'Why! Why did King do that!' (Y/N) thoughts were like a tornado, whirling around her mind constantly as she continued remembering the kiss that happened not too long ago. The sweet, yet innocent kiss that both of them shared in a moment of serenity and contentment.

Sliding down with her back turned to the closed door, (Y/N) tightly shut her eyes as she buried her head in her knees, her arms supporting them from falling as the silence of the extravagant room consumed her being, suffocating her as everything that she tried to run away from, everything that she was from was surrounding her in every single direction.

(Y/N) was in a room filled with nightmares.

Still feeling the cold texture of the shiny crown (Y/N) shot up with a start, her eyes ablaze with fury as her hand roughly took the crown off from her head, her shining eyes glaring down at the blood-stained crown with hatred.

"This crown isn't mine, and neither is the throne!" Yelling in fury (Y/N) went to smash the crown on the marble floor only for her reflection on the crown's red ruby stone to stop her, its big size amazing her as it shined beautifully against the morning rays of the sun, glinting off as it reflected on her face. The red ruby was large and shiny, so very clear as she was able to see her own reflection off from it.

"That's strange..." Forgetting her untamed hatred for the crown (Y/N) brought it closer towards her, her (E/C) eyes scrutinizing the red ruby intently as its deep, red ruby color continued astonishing her. 'I don't think it was red before.' Continuing looking at the ruby, (Y/n) swore that the last time that she saw the large ruby was when King handed it over to her, but then she remembered it being an enormous diamond instead, white not blood red.

Feeling entranced by the beauty of the red ruby (Y/N) slowly reached her hand to touch it, astonishment painted across her features as the ruby continued pulling her in its beautiful pool of red, her conscious slippingโ€”only for a secondโ€”before quickly recovering her composure. Though it was too late, and her pointer finger had already lightly brazed over the red ruby, burning her.

"Shit!" Letting go of the crown abruptly, (Y/N) held her scorched finger against her chest as she hissed in pain, her face bewildered as she glanced down at the crown as it looked the same as before when she was first introduced to it. As white as virgin snow with the big tear-drop diamond in the middle being white as well. No red ruby, nothing.

Hesitantly walked over towards the crown (Y/N) bent down and went to pick up the crown only to pull back, the burning sensation still lingering on her finger as the pain had yet to diminish. Even so, with her finger stinging as if it was just torn off, (Y/N) couldn't help it as the crown continued pulling her in its pure white color, all this time it was as if the crown itself was telling her to wear it; to own it.

Though she knew she couldn't. (Y/N) never wanted to even step foot in wherever she came from and now that she knew, she couldn't care less, but this? What was she supposed to think of this? (Y/N) now knew that she was a princess for crying out loud! (Y/N) always thought that her parents abandoned her since young. Though she still thought of it as so, the new revelation now brought her more questions than she had answers.

Why did her parents abandon her?

Did they wish to abandon her? Or were they forced to in fear of her being killed?

Why did the kingdom really fall?

What was she supposed to do now?

Too many questions, so few answers. Something that (Y/N) has lately been having to deal with more than anything else. In midst of her confusion and desperation (Y/N) grabbed the crown without knowing it until it was too late; it was already being held by both hands.

Closing her eyes tightly as she expected for something to happen (Y/N) slowly opened them once again as she felt no pain. Nothing. Just the cool feeling that the crown would give her against her warm touch was all she got from it.

The red ruby that burned her was now again leaving only the innocent-looking diamond. The burn that she got from it was now gone, leaving no trace of its presence except for the memory that was now forever imprinted in her mind.

Silence filled the room as the morning rays continued beaming down on the figure of (Y/N), the crown shining brilliantly under the warm rays as the two looked sublime together. From feeling disgusted and petrified of the crown to feeling calm and somewhat... comforted to have it in her hands, (Y/N) doubts of its safety to her vanished as the crown now looked more... welcoming? As crazy as it sounded to her, it did.

The crown no longer gave her goosebumps or a traumatized feeling, but it now gave her a feeling of tranquillity, calmness. It was like the crown now accepted her as something, but what was it? What was this feeling of intimacy and honesty that she felt whenever she looked down at the crown?

'Just... what is this?' (Y/N) questioned herself, no longer thinking of it as merely a crown, but now as something more. Something quite like a secrecy.

Sighing to herself (Y/N) got up from the floor as she casually surveyed the room, her nightgown draped loosely on her figure as it flowed gracefully behind her as she walked forward, her gaze set on a fallen and torn picture of what she believed to be her father, mother, and... herself.

Summoning a gush of wind to pick it up, the torn portrait flew up to her as she looked at it, not wishing to pick it up as she still was clinging to the crown securely.

Brushing her hands against the smooth texture of the painting (Y/N) let out a small smile as she thought of how her life might have been living in the castle with her birth parents. Were they kind to her? Did they show her love and affection like she saw other parents doing? Feeling more questions coming on (Y/N) shook her head softly with a sad smile, not wishing to think more about what her life might have been any longer.

(Y/N) had this now, and to her, that was enough.

Turning around (Y/N) went to leave the nursery room only for her eyes to catch the sight of a modest wooden door which was behind where the portrait used to be, but now it was exposed. Spinning around quickly (Y/N) floated up to where it was, feeling the golden handle of the door warming her skin as the wooden door continued to taunt her curiosity.

Just when she touched the door handle (Y/N) swore to have felt the crown burn only for the loud, sing-song voice of King to interrupt her thinking making her slightly stumble down on the floor, catching her balance soon after as she faced the wooden double doors.

"(Y/N)! Dinners ready!" Kind announced in a gleeful voice, his voice sounding only down the hall as footsteps were soon heard going back down the stairs, his footsteps getting quieter and quieter until (Y/N) could no longer hear it.

Letting go of the breath that she didn't know that she was holding in (Y/N) turned back around and floated the portrait back up towards where it was, not wanting to look for more questions that day as she already had more than enough.

Walking over towards the broken-down cradle (Y/N) glanced down at the shining crown held firmly in her hands before looking back up and walking over towards the cradle, placing the crown there for the meantime.

"Sun, I don't want to go with King right now." (Y/N) grumbled under her breath, pushing back the hair that was on her face as she let out an exasperated sigh. With her eyes closed (Y/N) made appear some water as she splashed it on her face, trying to make herself more pumped up for the dinner that she promised King that she would go to before... all of that happened.

Noticing that she was still wearing her nightgown (Y/N) groaned, not wanting to change but knowing that if she didn't, King would reprimand her for being so 'un-ladylike' as he would put it. Snickering at how much she still cared about it (Y/N) sighed and walked out of the room, sealing the door behind her.

Walking down the halls of the castle, (Y/N) barely paid attention to the paintings and vases that were still surviving after so long. Oh, and not to forget the stained glass window! It was quite beautiful as it depicted a scene of a king being coronated by something that looked like a woman with an aureola surrounding her head, golden spikes protruding from it as the gentlewoman dressed in white silk with her hand outstretched towards the kneeling man, a serene expression on her fair skin.

Awing to the splendor of a woman (Y/N) continued to admire the woman's features. Oh, how calm yet proud did she look, like the woman's white eyes seemed to be so pure, free of any pain or trauma from war showing anywhere in her eyes.

"How amazing could someone ever depict such beauty onto a window. Truly, something that the world has yet to applaud for." Commenting on the art (Y/N) looked at the window one last time before going back on her way towards her room, the gentlewoman still shining ethereally.

Though, what about the man?
